You can derail a train, but don't expect much. There are no explosions, i couldn't do any visible damage damage to the train. I built my own track so i can drops the train off the hige cliff, tried it - nothing it just rolls down with no effects.
Deer and cars- you can't hit them. Train just goes thru them. It would be fun to hit a deer at 130 mph on the Notheast Corridor!
One time when my train was passing a grade crossing on Marias Pass some van went straight through my train, like it wasn't there. Weird
Do downloaded locos work any different than the original ones? Where can you find good downloads?

Freeware downloads can be found at www.train-sim.com. Routes, cars, engines, and activities. Though you should pay your 30 bucks for a full membership. You then get instant access and higher download speeds
Freeware and payware - www.3dtrains.com - Marc has free engines and also a great selection of payware F's and GP's. This is also the home of my forum, Lone Wolf Activities. There you will find activity packs for Cajon, Tehachapi Pass 2, Conrail Indy. Lehigh Valley, and the NECV4. Dekosoft also has their forum there.
www.3dtrainstuff - Payware - Cajon and Tehachapi pass routes
http://www.mapleleaftracks.com - Sandpatch and Kicking Horse Pass
http://dekosoft.com/design/msts - Engines. The new UP pack is great, new sounds.
