the acelas are probobly the best us trains. For nice amtrak equipment, go to protrainz.com. Trainzseasternroutes.com has awesome routes.
Check the trainz forums as the are a better source than here.

also, is there a way to alter the config files to get a train to do over 250+ mph?
preferably the f unit, or even the sd-40 would work
i am just curious because i am a speed freak in the digital domain!!!
thanks,
nathan

If you go to Trainz Download Station, look for the Acelas by a username Tolaris. Very nice item. Do a description search for it though as there are quite a few assets to download to. They go 180mph on DCC mode.
As mentioned, Protrainz makes great Amtrak equipment. Magicland who is guy who is that creator, is doing some nice Metroliner and Viewliner equipment as payware.
U.S Trainz is another great place for modern equipment.
Another great place is Trainz Luvr for various stuff including Amtrak Autotrain and Superliner equipment.
World of Trainz is a payware site with very impressive and detailed locomotives.
For roadrailers, go to Virtual Motive ...........(can't remember the entire name but if you use Yahoo and type that in, it will take you there) they have Swift, Triple Crown and CN Intermodal.
