For reasons too painful to discuss, I had to reformat my hard drive and lost MS Train Simulator. I could not use the original CD's, so I went to Comp USA to replace it. All I could find was an "Atari" MSTS. Has anyone had any experience with this program? It looks the same as Microsoft, but before I install it, I was wondering if there was anything I should be aware of. The instructions say that disk one has to be in the drive when running this app.

I dont know anything about Atari MSTS, but consider buying a second hard drive for your games. That way you can just format C and once up and running again, open my computer select your second drive and open your game.

Several drives really helps to save the data that might otherwise be lost forever if you had to format the one C:\ drive.

The Atari Version IS Microsoft Train Simulator. Atari bought the rights!

This version requires the CD to be in the drive, but downloading the 1.2 Update from http://www.microsoft.com/games/trainsimulator/ will solve that issue...

Atari now redistributes a lot of titles it thinks it can still wring a few bucks out of, thank goodness. I got my backup copy of MSTS from them too (you never know) after my original disks were "misplaced" in a move.

To make it so you don't have to have the CD in while playing, go to the Microsoft website and download the 1.2 patch.
