Help with finding the Genesis add-on to MSTS

  • I originally posted this question in the General Discussion Forum without knowing it would lead to the Train Simulator Forum.

"My wife and I are planning on taking the California Zephyr from California to Omaha, NE in the last week of May to pick up my grandson, because my 8-year-old grandson loves trains. He asked for & received Microsoft's Train Simulator for Christmas and has been asking what loco will be pulling us, so that he can learn how to run it before we get there. Is anybody familiar with what Loco the California Zephyr is?"

I found out that the engine is the P42DC, called "Genesis" and there is an add-on to MSTS for this train.

I went to http://www.train-sim.com, which lead me to http://www.mapleleaftracks.com/products.html and then to the http://www.valleypass.com/Sales/Sales.htm site.

I'm totally lost now, can anyone lead me to the correct add-on?

    Thanks, JohnnyB

  • There should be several free versions on train-sim, including the cars and activities.  Just search for either amtrak or the specific locomotive in the file library.  There may be some over on Mophouse too, which is now where all the Maple Leaf Track freeware stuff is located.
