NOTE *The year is in the 1980's when the CNW ran on these lines before the WC and now CN*
Well it was time to take a lil trip up to MI to check out some LS&I action....On the way up our first stop was going to be Goose Lake.....When we got there we seen our first CNW ore train for the day and this was the one we were going to chase up to Tilden Mine
We then set up our cameras to get him climbing up out of the river valley
Now at Partridge Jct WYE the CNW takes the SW leg of the WYE to head in the right direction
Now at the south end of Empire Jct WYE we see the train slowly making its way towards the mine
Looking like a snake with its ore jennies the train keeps on chugging its way to the mine
Making the bend to come past the Empire mine
Now passing a siding where they load some ballast and soon to duck under a tunnel
Now coming out of the tunnel the train slows to hit the Tilden Jct switch to go in the right direction towards Tilden mine
Behind me sits Empire mine
Making a nice bend you still cant catch the tail end of this 110 car ore train
A nice shot of the ore jennies
Passing another worker that works around the mine
Now at the end of the line at Tilden mine the train slows to start its long process of loading these ore cars
Seeing that this was going to take several hours we decided to call it a day...But before we left we went over to the mines office and asked them when another train would be here that we can catch and take pix of and chase a loaded ore train back towards Escanaba....They said we will call and let you know...............Till next time.....Look for a loaded CNW ore train coming soon your way :)
This is one of my favorites J. Keep em' coming.
