My favorite railroads are the:
(#1) Wisconsin Central
2. EJ&E
I live near the Wisconsin Central mainline that passes through Grayslake and Round Lake Beach. I know now that CN bought out the Wisconsin Central. Therefore, the horns are different and so are the locomotives hauling the freights. But I will never forget the SD45s equipped with Nathan P3 horns tuned in A#.

The story of Casey Jones got me interested in railroads, so I have always had a soft spot for the Illinois Central. IC's Yazoo & Mississippi Valley is a favorite, too, together with Columbus & Greenville.
Otherwise, I have fond memories of watching many CSX (ex-Louisville & Nashville) freights in and around Bay St. Louis, Mississippi and seeing IC, CSX, Kansas City Southern, Missouri Pacific, Norfolk Southern in the New Orleans area.
I am also interested in Southwestern and Western railroads, but the Deep South lines interest me the most.
