Looking at a MTH 501001 DCS remote control system to add SOUNDS & LIGHT controls to my DC layout. Question: How well will this work and are there any other stuff needed to make it work or oporate? I'm trying to avoid converting to DCC.
If you are in O gauge tinplate or hi-rail, you should post on the Classic Toy Trains forum. They are the big DCS users.
If you are in one of the smaller scales, the Model Railroader forums are the place to be - especially the Electronics and DCC forum.
As I understand it, DCS is simply a non-standard form of DCC, supported only by MTH. If you're trying to avoid DCC, DCS is NOT the way to do it.
