Small and sympathetic Switzerland in the heart of the "Old Continent" is a grand, developped and peaceful railroad country without any doubt. On the other hand, with its modern and effective network of trams/streetcars plus commuter and inter-city trains, Zurich is a real railroad town like Basel and Geneva.

For French-speaking North American railfans, I highly recommend to get that new, detailed book (written in French language) about the contemporary Swiss rail system, mentioned in the link down below:,fr,4,110389.cfm
