Greenbush Terminal Railroad Operating Statement
Greenbush Terminal Railroad (GTRR) is a short-line freight railroad providing rail services between Greenbush and South Braintree, Massachusetts. Operating five days per week - with additional service provided on-demand - GTRR interchanges with CSXT at South Braintree, thereby offering rail service connection to the entire North American continental railway system.
GTRR operates the Greenbush Branch line under a license agreement with the Massachusetts Mass. Bay Transit Authority(MBTA). The largest customer of GTRR is the Peach Brothers manufacturing complex located west of Greenbush Yard. Their products include electrical motors for industry, industrial hardware, as well as steel and iron fabrication. As such, the GTRR has to handle a variety of inbound material such as coal, limestone, chemicals, scrap metal, fuel, boxcars of misc. materials, and dry bulk chemicals. Outbound finished products also have to be handled in a timely manor.
