Quote function

  • When I use the quote function in replying to a post my reply doesn't change the background of the quoted message to yellow. What am I missing?

This was done by clicking on the quote icon in upper right hand corner of posting.

This was done by typing the 'quote com' with [ ] around it.

both seams to work for me.[;)]

  • What I do is either click the "quote icon" in the upper right like "spankybird" said. Or you can shorten the quote by erasing the rest down to what you want to post. I don't think that yellow backaround appears when doing that though.

Nope - it still leaves it yellow background. You must leave the last 'quote' command in the [/ ] brackets. If you don't have that, then you will wonder where the yellow went.

Ok, let's see if I've got it.

    Apparently so, thanks.

  • On my machine the "upper right-hand" function would be the yellow warning triangle on the first line of Message Icon.

Where should I be looking? [:(]

  • I never figured out how to use the quote function either, despite having several years' headstart by also belonging to ship-of-fools.com. I don't understand the instructions above, though my guess is that they will suffice for most people.

Anyone wanna "paint me a picture"? Bet you'll help other people as well.
