What is the measurement between the wheels??? From what I remember they are about TT gauge.

You should be able to find TT gauge track on eBay....probably from somebody in Germany or England.
The quick and dirty trick would be to lay appropriate (code 55 or 70) rail, either on proper wood ties or on a pine base, to the proper gauge for each model. The rail can either be spiked with micro-spikes (which is why I specified pine) or glued down (on a chunk of battleship armor or anything softer.
As was noted, the hallmark ornaments aren't intended to roll, but they would look all right standing still.

If there is a local hobby shop with N Gauge Track and Z Gauge Track measure the track or put the ornaments on the tracks.
There are several sizes to the Hallmark Lionel ornaments, it requires measurments and testing.

Check out the Zscale section of TrainBoard. Some modelers are able to swap the wheels for MTL Z's with a ship. For the PA, they are able to swap a MTL GP to make 4 powered axles. There are some videos out on the net. Some guys even make Zscale brass sided to make a baggage & coach cars out of the sleeper. Then you can try the new MTL Zscale track. The starter set runs about $15. It is very similar to Kato Unitrak but uses Marklin Z geometry.
Another problem with the AFT cars is the lack of a knucke coupler.
If you've seen some of the new MTL Z product, we may have another convert to Z scale!
