In a previous Trains Magazine issue, they talked about the importance of Amtrak's three backshops, as if they were the backbone of the daily operations in our system. Well, I'm here to tell everyone AND Trains Magazine, that the Washington Terminal yard and shops' crews are the best in the entire system, HANDS DOWN!!! We're responsible for a wide variety of rolling stock and both electric, diesel, conventional and high speed trainsets. So, Wilmington's shop may take care of the heavy maintenance, but I can tell you, we've done our share
of the heavy maintenance, when Wilmington couldn't! So, I challange anyone, on any railroad to prove to me and Trains Magazine that thier yard/shops are better than Amtrak's Washington Terminal!!!!
