Hello,
I recently purchased the new copy of Trains mag. I was very intrigued by the article on L.A.'s shipping ports and its operations. I was highly impressed with the new triple-track trench in that area (say that 10 times real fast). My question is: what is the typical loading/unloading time of your average stack train. The magazine predicts that traffic in and out of L.A.-Long beach is no where near peaking. It would seem that transloading operations will max themselves before container traffic will level off. I believe the new "capacity problem" will be that transloading crews simply will not have time to handle the increase in traffic at the ports. Time will tell...
