Are there any web sites or publications on the Metra commuter services and on the "L"? Specially on the roling stock. History and latest builds.

Best website on the "L" is Graham Garfield's "chicago-L.org" has sections on cars as well as other aspects of the operation.

The first link is an excellent source for the L, the second covers most mass transit, both rail and bus, in the Chicago area.
