Dead Man's Interlock

I think the interlock at Trenton Station NJ should be nicknamed dead man's interlock. The reason so is because it is all at grade, with no flyovers. Southbound trains switch to northbound and vise versa. This is done when an acela can come racing by at any moment. These trains are so fast it does not even look real. I gives me the chills when I think about this flat interlock infastructure, with terminating commuter trains changing directions and flying acelas racing by. One signal error can cause a collision one would never forget!!! At this point I don't even have to remind anyone that this is a very dangerous interlock!!! in fact a deadly interlock. I need responses from you fellow people because this might be the most important topic ever posted in Trains.com

Railroads are the safest mode of transportation, period.

Your blatent non-sense and paranoia serves no good purpose at all.

It should be considered a great engineering feat.

DS/RTC's keep an eye on it and are highly professional (even if they aren't MN RTC's[;)]) - they know what trains are coming through when and where even if you don't.

Interlockings have that name for a reason. They are set up, either mechanically or electrically or both, to make it impossible for two or more trains to be allowed on a conflicting route.
In American railroading, flyovers at junctions are quite rare. ZOO tower in Philadelphia is well-known simply because it is all flyovers, no surface crossings.
