Dumb Wiring question from a newbie

  • I have a simple (for you all) layout. Two sets of E-Z Track running around the top of my son's room. I want to use a smaller power pack for accesories around the layout. How (and where do i get it & what kind) run wire from the power pack throughout the layout to all the accessories.

If you have time for simple stuff I appreciate it.
    THanks!!

  • It would depend on how many accessories and how you're planning on controlling them. For example, building lights can be attached to a single switch and wired in parallel. Switch machines can have a single feed to the control, then each switch has its wires run individually.

For the small quantity of wire you'll need for this, your local hobby shop or electronics shop, like Radio Shack, should have small reels of wire. If you can find it, get several different colors and use a certain pair for track feeds, another for switch machine feeds, building lighting, etc. It will make troubleshooting easier in the future.
