A recent post by a member on another forum introducing his new web site, and subsequent posts where people were asking about how to get their own got me thinking that maybe not everyone knows that you can build a website about your layout at the Layout Depot for FREE.

All layout websites have the ability to:

--- post their name and layout logo

--- post all kinds of details about their layout (era, size, complexity, prototype, min radius, max grade, etc)

--- 4 free content sections:
------- Introduction
------- About
------- History
------- Design Files (to upload your layout designs)

--- 5 optional pay-as-you go sections:
------- Prototype Info
------- What's New
------- Design Notes
------- Track Plan

Most of the sections allow for the uploading of at least one accompanying image.

New sections will be added over time, as the demand grows. First on this list would be: Photo Gallery and Equipment Roster. Other ideas are always welcome.

Your layout will automatically be listed in the "Layouts" section of the website, and the newest one is always featured on the homepage of the Layout Depot site.

For an example of a layout feature on Layout Depot, check out this:

To create a layout, you'll need to be a member (also FREE), and if you are already a member, you are simply a couple clicks away from starting to create a home on the web.

Existing members: http://www.layoutdepot.com/memberlogin.ihtml
New Members: http://www.layoutdepot.com/memberaccount.ihtml?step=1&type=new

Spread the word - the more layouts on the website, the more enjoyable and useful the website becomes.

Thanks,
Peter
