In search of Milwaukee Road Hiawatha Skytop Observation (late 60's style)

  • Hello Fellow Rails...
I am in search of either the plans or a model in HO scale for the Milwaukee Road Skytop (Beavertail) observation car to complete my set. I am looking for the late 60's style paint scheme in yellow, grey, and red lettering. If you know of some plans, kits, etc., please feel free to contact me. Please keep in mind that I am not made of money, or do I want to pay someone else's bills. Just looking for something generic that I can either build or work on to complete the set of my child hood, as I sat on the 3rd floor of Oconomowoc Junior High and watched this beauty sail through downtown Oconomowoc, not before I got yelled at by the teacher for not paying attention in class. Thank you in advance for your time and trouble.

  • I do not know of any kits that you can build. The closest that I know of that you're going to get is to Overland brass or Challenger imports. I'm sorry to say that thay would cost 500 dollars each or more, but on ebay you should beable to get the model under 500 dollars. I should know since I have bought a little Joe and a bipolar in the past and they aren't the cheapest models in the world either. For plans, you may have have to go to the Internet and look up the blue prints and you might want to look through model railroader. They always seem to come up with these things. You might want to go www.modelrailroader.com and look for the blueprints there.
