  • Hello,

I have recently found my ole lionel train 027 at my parents house, unfortunately all the track is missing. This set came with the 3 rail track, My question is I am going to the local train hobby shop to buy new track and I want to use the2 rail track...Is this possible with this train set?

  • To my knowledge, no. Look at the bottom of the train you will proabally see a wheel down there that rides on the middle rail. This needs to be powered with electricity or the train will not run.
  • Probably better if you ask in the model railroad forums, youll get more help.

Please don't be discouraged from visiting all the forums, there are a wide variety of topics which you might find of itnerest.

As has been noted the Classic Toy Trains forum is a good spot for Lionel questions but don't forget the Model Railroader forum for lots of general information about model trains, structures and other details.

Again, don't limit yourself to a single forum because not everyone goes to all the venues.

    Welcome.
