P.O.W. TRAIN IN TEXAS

  • me & breeze was workin for a guy in tyler tx he told us about camp fannin a us army base that shut down in 1945 we live near the old OFFICERS club
    and about a mile from the old firing range which is now a hospital
    ther would be 2 trains a week bringing pows from other bases to tyler they would rebuild the motors for army trucks & jeeps 1 train would bring old motors and parts & take the rebuilt ones back the old depot stillstands but is in bad shape [:(] the line was a cotton belt but is now UP[8D]

  • Ive been modelling rail ops in Texas for about five years now, and I cannot ever remember hearing, knowing, or reading about that.
