Misleading movie titles

  • Have you ever looked at a movie title and figured you were in for a couple of hours of railway delight, and then found there was nothing to do with trains in it?
I've just read about Derailed and don't think there's a train in it. [:(!]
A few years ago there was Trainspotting. [xx(]
    Any other nominations?

  • Uhhh, I can think of some, but my mind done gone blank. Sorry
  • North Country - After reading the first few sentences of the review in the newpaper I got my hopes up that maybe there'd be some trains in this movie about miners in the north Minnesota Iron Range region. But after reading the whole review and other reviews on imdb.com I'm doubtful there'd be any trains it it all. It's all about some kind of landmark sexual harrassment case. The only reason I was mildly interested in this movie was I've just recently seen the movie Fargo for the first time so my interest has been slightly piqued in topics on this area of the country.

I don't know if I want to see North Country now, not in the theater anyway. What would be more interesting would be a movie about the Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Ry. Now that would be cool! Unfortunatly, I'm dissappointed by the lack of info about this info. There are a couple of links on the internet to it's historical society. I found one book at the library called The Missabe Road.

Probably the worst offender of this that comes to mind is "The Train Robbers" with John Wayne, remember seeing it as a kid, and being hugely let down by the ending, havent seen it since.

In "Derailed" there are a couple of Chicago L trains in the previews if memory serves me right, but I refuse to go see it, heard to much stink around it.

Trainspotting turned out to be a euphemism for scoring heroin in Britain, learned that in the movie, also where the dirtiest toilet in Scotland is...LOL[:0]

       Have fun with your trains

  • From In Living color Blaine and Anton in a Men on segment.......
" Attention Attention Black Stallion is NOT a movie about Denzel Washinton! Its just about some old smelly horse!"

I dont remember seeing the train robbers. I have the Hurricane Express on DVD now that is an awesome movie ( tounge firmly in cheek) I think it was good for the old serial days but the acting is well......

Yes we are on time but this is yesterdays train
