Searching for Private Collection in Southern California 1964-1967

Hello,
I'm searching for information on a private railcar collection in Southern California's San Gabriel Valley (San Gabriel-Rosemead-El Monte-Temple City-Pasadena. This would have been in the early 1960's if not earlier.
It was an established collection with multiple engines and rolling stock, a "turntable", storage barns and enough track to move the stock around.
It was in a upper middle class residential neighborhood and had a box car on display in the front yard.
I got a tour of it when I was young while visiting a family friend across the street, unfortunately I can't remember the name of the street (or city) and the friend moved off many years ago.
I've searched a couple of different places/sites for information but either I'm not getting the keywords right or its long gone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I am guessing but it sounds like the collection woned by one of the guys who worked for Walt Disney and got him started in trains. he had a 24" gauge engine and a couple of cars and a lot of other stuff. Can't remember his name but there were at least two articles on him in Trains. WARD KIMBALL! that was his name. That one almost gave me a brain cramp!
