  • My favorite older engine is the ALCo C420. I love all ALCos.

My favorite modern engine is the SD70ACe
    Colin from prr.railfan.net
  • Old- DD40AX, SD24, SD45, F45, TUNNEL MOTORS
    New-SD90MACS, SD70ACES

I am LOVE diesles, although I wish I could spell diesles
  • Vintage for me would be most of the ALCOs, startin with the RS1 to the last one built by them, GP30, GP35, and the SD40-2 are my EMD vintage favorites, GE's U Boats, Baldwin's Sharknoses, and FM's Trainmaster and Erie Built. My modern favorites would be the Dash 8s and 9s by GE, and the SD70MAC by EMD.
  • My favorites: The Alco RS-1 because of the terrific job it did for the Army in WWII and it started the trend to road-switchers. The EMD E-5, (stainless version of the E-6 just for the Burlington lines) because it is the most beautiful. The GP-7 because I used them for my bacholor;s degree research and ran one. The GP-9 because results went into its design. The FP-40 because it rescued Amtrak. The Alco DL-109 because of the terric job it did for the New Haven during WWII and its use as dual service, passenger by day and freight at night. The FT for starting the real main line freight revolution and the terrific job it did for the AT&SF, the D&RGW, and the Southern during WWII.
