1/20 Scale Garden Scale 2-8-0. Having a choice of either Live Steam or Battery Power, which would be perferable. There are pro and cons associated with this. I would like some input before I make a purchase

I would purchase the electric and this is the reason why.
I purchased an Aster Daylight live steam number 1 scale in 1988 and never once ran it. At least if it was an electric powered model, I could have run it and enjoyed it. We all want the real thing, but sometimes it is not the best.
Just my thoughts.

Electric will require a lot less maintenance. It is ready to go without having to take time to fill the boiler, light the fire, and wait for steam to build up. Of course live steam is more realistic. It depends on how much time you can put into the operation and what you like to do.
