Railroad lanterns

  • I recently was given a railroad lantern. The manufacturer is Dietz and the last patent date on it is Jan 22 07. It's got some scratches on the lense and the paint is chipped. I would say it is in good condition. Any idea what it could be worth?

  • Does it have any railroad marking? What color is the globe? Is there a model name on the top? What color is the paint? I assume it is a kerosene lantern.
  • Try looking the manufacturer name up on google and see what comes about.

It's worth whatever people are willing to pay for it.
  • Yes it is a kerosene lamp. It's black in color and the trim around the lens is brass. I do not see a railroad name anywhere on it. Really the value of it doesn't mean much to me - I am glad to own a piece of history.
