I thought the group might be interested in a couple of upcoming special trips the SAM SHORTLINE will be running out of Cordele, Georgia. These will be good opportunities to collect some rare mileage on an historic line as well as to get photographs in places we don’t usually go. See http://www.samshortline.com for additional information.
Monday, December 20, 2004—“Last Minute Shoppers’ Special” from Cordele to Vidalia, GA
Travel non-stop from Cordele to downtown Vidalia where you'll have two hours to shop and enjoy restaurants. While onboard, listen to a reading of The Polar Express and visit with Santa. Short train rides to the Oconee River Bridge will be available for $8 - $20. Train leaves Cordele at 8 a.m. and returns at 6:15 p.m. $17 - $22 children; $27 - $32 adults.
Friday, February 18 - Sunday, February, 20, 2005—“Presidents’ Day Special” from Cordele to Savannah, GA
Includes train ride from Cordele to Savannah, accommodations, a riverboat cruise with dining and dancing, historic district tour, shopping, optional ghost tour, and fabulous fried chicken at the famous Lady & Sons. Visit http://www.travelata.org for all the details.
I’ll be happy to answer any questions.
Thanks,
Lee
