Can Kalmbach get the rights to the magazines that were on the TrainLife website.

  • There is a website called TrainLife it used to have functioning links to a wide variety of railroad and model railroad magazines. The links are all gone now. I wonder if it is an internet service provider expense issue or a copyright issue that caused them to sever the links.

Can Kalmbach Publishing acquire the copyrights to the contents of all these railroad magazines to distribute them in new printed forms and in digital form, such as internet downloads and Flash Drives?

The original publishing company of RailModel Journal does not even acknowledge that these magazine issues ever existed on their website.

This information is too good to be ignored.

  • I have been waiting for a reply but since none have been made I will give you an opinion. I doubt they wou ld as there is no financial incentive. It is a corporation you know. In fact I would bet they wished they never started the forums as there are probably numerous headaches from them. Since I have never seen or heard of the information you cite it seems to me a private individual could use it to start a web page. Why not try yourself?
