  • Favorite is Heritage II paint scheme. Heritage I is okay. Also enjoy the Executive paint (green and cream). Over the weekend I saw #3329 Moersk Engine lease that was never repainted and now has the Norfolk Southern lettering on the side. This engine is blue and silver with a big star on the front. One of a kind. But all in all I and my Queen of the rails like all of the BNSF especially the pumpkins. Mostly viewed from Durand Michigan (I live in Michigan) or Fostoria Ohio.

    Wishing you Steam Views,

  • I enjoy all of the BNSF paint schemes and plan to represent as many ans possible on my new layout (unders construction) for the sake of variety and visual interest. The Heritage I & II schemes are what first caught my eye for BNSF as I love the green and orange together (my two favorite colors).

  • yea the pumpkin orange looks good to on the BNSF engines. Those i see the most on the mainline here in becker are the workhorses. sometimes a green one will be on the local ones but the long distance ones i normaly see the Dash 9 or EMDs
  • I hate the heritage II. They are so ugly it makes me think they painted them in a dark room.
  • I like the old EMD GP 40 those engines were cool. Also EMD SD 40-2 BN had lot of those, and still use some. The other day i saw a BN EMD SD 40 with a few yard helper engines behind it must of been taking them to a train yard or something. The SW 15.
Also a few days ago i seen a train with one of those old engines that had the big nose and dont really have windshilds they just have the cab windows. dont see those to often any more.
  • hey joeofbecker, good to hear another central Minnesota railfan. (I'm down on the Monticello sub)

I'll say the neat unit to see are the big SD40-2s roaring up the staples...great to roll down the windows on Hwy. 10 right when they are coming up to the crossing and hear the horn blow.
  • I am a 100% HARD CORE BNSF FAN.
    ! love the BNSF Railroad.

    I never would have guessed![:D]
  • I don't like modern Class 1's much but BNSF is on top IMHO! I like H2 the most.
  • BNSF is my Favortie Class 1. Several other regionals and shortlines in Front though. And my favorite schemes got to be the pumpkin, although the executives a close second.

  • I like the BNSF pumpkin paint scheme and the BNSF engines still in BN paint. Great photo dougal, I was just at Cresson staying at The Station Inn around the begining of September.
  • I like both paint jobs that BNSF has done and I kinda like the experimental paint jobs too

  • I'm not sure what it's called but I like the 2 tone green scheme I see on some of the SD70Mac's on coal trains. It reminds me of the old Northern Pacific.
  • I still love the BN Cream&Green SD70MAC's.
