Homewood Illinois to build railfan shelter

Homewood, Illinois has approved funding and plans to build a Roselle type structure in downtown Homewood for railfans to use while watching the IC through Homewood. Unfortunately the land available is on the east side of the tracks meaning the yard traffic to Woodcrest yard will block visbility when being swicthed. They also have allocated space for parking of about six spots although public parking is available within half a block and shouldn't be a problem. the shelter will be about a half block south of the station and just south of the intersection of Ridge Road and Harwood Avenue. I would expect it would be next spring before anything is done. Homewood had a railroad days last May and was impressed with the draw it received.
