The SPMW 209 was the lead rotary today out of Roseville east today to clear a large snow slide around Shed 10 that happened last night trapping two GP38-2'a and a flanger on the Hill. The SD70Ace 8444 and 8585 were nose to nose and provided the push. the MW209 was built in 1928 and was converted to diesel power in 1957 era. The steam generators provide steam to the blades to keep them from freezing over and it is an amazing sight to see in person. WOW!
It was a sight to behold with the steam whistles blowing for almost every crossing on the way up the mountain. I had to stop at Gold Run since the snow was coming down again and my 2 wheel drive would not continue all the way up the mountain.
