  • There were BN C424's, their road numbers were 4240-4246. I dont think they ever owned any DASH8's or DASH9's though.

P.S., got to http://archive.trainpix.com/BN/ALCO/C424/INDEX.HTM to see 2 pictures of the C424's that BN owned.
  • The BN did have Dash 8's: The B39-8's,were GECX and LMX lease units numbered 8500-8599, some were designated as B39-8E. The "e" stood for enhanced, having microprocessors in them. Then there is the B32-8 #'s 5497-5499, these too were LMX lease units.
  • Somebody throw this guy a BN loco roster![:P]

  • Good job Mike!, Thanks a bunch. I was just about to pull my roster out.......the one I have from my days of working on the BN in Minnesota,as a locomotive engineer. If some one wants to "debate' the DASH 8's the BN had.......... go ahead,I worked on those smoke belching units, and they wern't fun to be dealing with either. Furthermore, I find it a bit funny that the "original" person who posted the question;CORNFTERBULLED would be agreeing with others about a roster, since YOU were the one that posted the question. If anyone NEEDS a book or a roster on the BN,I suggest you READ the books; "BN into the 90's",by Joseph W. Shine, and "BN 1980-1991 ANNUAL" by Robert C.Del Grosso. Then tell others that the BN didn't have any Dash 8's,AFTER you have read them.
