BLOG: 2010 - Castle Rock Museum

  • Lisa and I went down to Colorado Springs for a little holiday joy and while on route we stopped in Castle Rock to check to see if the museum was open. We were in luck and got a nice private tour of the inside and learned where this D&RGW Depot once stood before it was moved.

  • Hello train lovers,

My name is Noémie, I am French, I am studying English and I want to be a translator. For university I have to do some research work about trains in order to write a dissertation which will consist in a sort of English-French dictionary of electric and diesel locomotives. I chose trains because I've always been kind of obsessed by trains. When I hand in my dissertation, if it is good enough hopefully I will get a master's degree in translation and lexicon studies. :)

But I can't make it without a little help from English speaking persons. Dictionaries can be helpful sometimes but they have never driven a locomotive themselves have they. That is why I would be glad to get in touch with English-speaking train drivers or technicians, or just railway maniacs, so as to get reliable information about how do you call this and that in English, also maybe to help me find English books and documents I can get some information from.

I have already posted a message on a UK forum but no one replied :(

so if any of you is willing to help me, please let me know! I would be reaaaally grateful.

    Thanks a lot :)

    Noémie.
