  • There are lots of great scanners out there, I use a BC 350A, it's great for setting up and home and taking in the car, as it can also plug into the cigarette lighter.

Check out this site and ask the question in their forum too, it's also a lot about the kind of antenna you use on the road and at home, the antenna can make or break you.

  • 1-how much money do you want to spend
2-how many channels do you want the scanner to have
    3-warranty,more than a year
4-Uniden Bearcat, and Radio Shack scanners are great
I own a Uniden Bearcat Sportcat 100 channel scanner, and it works really great. Also its a nice yellow color, different from the ocasional black that I'm used to seeing.
  • I also own A Uniden Bearcat Sportcat 100 - but mines black - but have to agree operation and reception great - but consider a good antenna for use in the car etc .

The antenna really can be the difference between getting everything, and getting nothing, make sure you look into a good antenna just as much as you look into getting a good scanner.
