I attended a meeting for the propose rerouting of the Chicago South Shore & South Bend tracks in Michigan City.
I missed the first meeting. This one was set up to answer the questions from the last.
I downloaded a lot of pages from the hand out. A lot of the pages were just stupid gripes about the change and how will / much compensation will people get for their property.
The freight and passenger line stated they need to implement the new safety regulations by 2015,
Nictd Passenger service was present at the meeting but left before the meeting started.
The consultent fearm took all the heated questions.
Nictd and South Shore presented three routes last meeting.
1 st to perrall the CXS tracks to the south.
2 nd to widen the right of way along the present route.
3 rd to go North and parrall the Amtrak route.
The best I gathered about option 1 was they did not like it.
Option 3 was rulled out because Nictd said they would have to construct a 45 Million dollar bridge over Trail Creek next to the Amtrak bridge.
The best option was the present route.
MAJOR problem was they would have to remover 150 homes and close about 17 road crossing and fence off the route.
I do not know what is going on with my "WINDOWS 7".
I am losing pages, or WINDOWS 7 is putting them where it wants to. It keeps showing me what it wants me to see and not what I am attempting to present.
I downloaded all the information pages to Photo Bucket. Then I copy/pasted them into Word Perfect so that I had a list of all the address of the photos I wanted to present.
When I attempted to view them as I attempted to include them into this forum. Windows began to download them all. Now I lost several off my list.
I will attempt to find them Monday. I am using the WIFI in my library.
