I'm a lit student, currently reading an 1850 novel with a major portion set on a steam driven train heading to New York. Does anyone know of an easy-access resource to find out basic stats, such as spatial dimensions of carriages/ engine speeds/ pics of interiors, etc.? It's not exactly a realist novel, but I'd like to get a reasonable idea of the movement taken through space and time.
