Old Model Railroading magazine issues

  • We have inherited some old issues of Model Railroading magazine and would like to sell them at a reasonable price.

Is there a place where one would advertise these?

    Thank you in advance.

  • ebay is a common place to find MRR back issues for sale. Locally, I have seen them on craig's list.

  • Be prepared that there may be no takers for a number of reasons.  The primary one being the older the issues the more outdated are the techniques used.  I had MR and Trains from Volume 1 Issue 1 through 1990.  I finally donated them to a club and took a tax write off for full face value.  That was the best return I could get on them.
  • You could probably get more if they were Model Railroader rather than Model Railroading, I suspect more people collect Model Railroader and might be looking to fill out their collection.

What you could get for them would come down to whether a particular issue had something that someone needed - an article on a particular type of locomotive or car modification etc. - so could be rather hit and miss. One issue might sell for a buck or two, the others might go unwanted at 25 c. each.
