I sometimes like to write essays and parragraphs and a few weeks ago I wrote an essay entitiled, The Steam Train Buff, and this type of essay is a character sketch. Which is a writing about a general type of people, and it's also how I feel. I don't know if this has been done here before, but I hope that all of you enjoy reading it.

The Steam Train Buff

The steam train buff may sometimes seem, like a dying breed, but that's not true.

Sure, automobiles and planes have attracted the attention of many more. The steam train buff is unique because he realizes that there is no other machine that has so much personality. A steam locomotive huffs and puffs and breathes steam, its whistle is like its voice, and when not properly taken care of, it will make you pay big time. In short, the steam locomotive seems as if it has a soul of its own. The steam train buff knows and admires this. The steam train buff is quick to state his favorite railroad, favorite type of steam locomotive, his favorite rollingstock- frieght or passenger, favorite scale, and perhaps the one special steam engine he loves and admires the most. He sometimes wears apparel that shows his love for steam railroading. Many times he will visit a place, perhaps a park, museum, or shopping mall and be dissapointed and think- " If only this place was sprawling with track and station(s), and a neat roster of engines and rollingstock". Unfortunately, he may not be able to be around steam trains too often. So he must try to recreate his favorite railroad in models. His Sunday will definetly be ruined if he is not awoken early in the morning to watch "Tracks Ahead" on the public channel. He will feel frustrated and depressed if he doesn't visit his favorite railroad or another railroad in long periods of time. He is prone to be a member of a popular internet forum as trains.com to show his individual enthusiasm to others like him. He is born or starts young in his love for trains and he must fulfill his steaming passion for all of his life.
