Ham radio and railfans

Hi friends, Im a ham radio operator in SW Missouri (just outside of Branson, Mo.) I am interested in setting up some special events this summer on 20 meters much like the Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society has done. I think it would be nice to have some Special Events for Railroads, from Classic Depots, static displays, tourist trains, etc. In fact I would like to see us have an Amateur Radio Railfans Society, wherein we could have a web page with the coming months activities, etc. I contacted a Chapter of the NRHS and got a reply from somone not familiar with Ham radio, so got no encouragement from them.
Any one interested I would like very much to hear from you direct at my email address, w0dlr@fidnet.com
We'll collect some information, suggestions, etc. and try to put something together.
73 from Dave, W0DLR

Hi Dave,
Sounds good to me. You might want to publish it as a Special Event in QST if you can. I think the ads are free for ARRL members.
