I agree with a previous comment about this ad. WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! There is no way on this green earth that any full sized pick up truck, espeailly (sp) one with an Allison transmission will be pulling a train. NOPE
Oh and another thing....since when did the railroads start bringing back open frame Auto Racks???

"All of the world's problems are the result of the difference between how we think and how the world works."
That is probably the worst commercial ever.
The slack run in will destroy that little truckie.
What did it for me was I understand truck engines and what they can and cannot do. I also remember the 4 Aces with the 3 ladies pulling on it. And finally the use of open autoracks showcasing the things... nah. Does not impress me at all. Desperate little ad.
Now what truck do I like? The GMC's with the Cummins on board and the manual shifting about 1450-1550 rpm just like the 18 wheelers. I think they were the new 3500's. Very strong but not too harsh.
Oh yeah, that truck would slip off the track and get crushed
I will say this ad is the worst train-themed ad EVER!!!!!!
Thank you.to the real world where (almost) everyone has no idea about railroading-except it's all choochoo()

I find it very interesting that Marketing is so old and recycled as a Industry that they cannot choose just one car to showcase the truck. They had to stick a truck on every concieveable item as long as the camera sees the whole truck. BLEAH.
If the Pickup Truck company wants to run trains THAT bad they need to stop playing in the sand box with a pickup and move up into Locomotives.
I wonder if they marched forth from the ivory tower and slapped the project ad truck folder onto a desk of one of their least creative minds somewhere deep in cubicle land. They should have given it to a rail fan who might give it a very good shot.
They need to be careful with Marketing in the future. The ad may run for a month and tell how great the new widget is but Youtube will be around for decades long after the customers die off telling the childrens children the horrors of poor advertising.
i was just mad that i saw some stupid truck pulling this train instead of an SD60 or an SD40-2.
i bet a GP15-1 could even handle that train!
If you look closely at 00:18 seconds into the ad at the bottom of the screen there is a disclaimer that appears:
"Fictionalization Heavy-Duty Style"
This disclaimer stays on screen until 00:21 seconds into the ad and then another disclaimer appears at 00:22 seconds into the ad:
"Based on 3/4-ton and 1-ton vehicles in the 2007 GM Large Pickup segment. Excludes other GM vehicles" and stays until 00:25 seconds.
Many a railroad tycoon would be happy to jump at the chance to run a consist with a $50,000 pickup truck as opposed to a few $2,000,000.00 + EMD locomotives.
