Also i just saw on rrpicturearchives.net that there is an sd45-2 hls-1. is this similar to the wlo-1 and wlo-2 and if so what and how are they used. how many other locomotives out there are there like these(csx or other railroads)? thanks for any help and filling me in on these unique machines.
Thanks for asking the question. I had never heard of these before.
It looks like HLS1 does the same function in Huntington.

It would be awesome if someone out there could explain how exactly these units work as far as load testing locomotives. also i thought as of the Dash 2 locomotives from emd that locomotives could load test themselves. if remember right it was an article on the centenials for up and the new electrical improvements that were included in them and the soon to released dash 2 series. i know im getting pretty specific here but someone out there has to be able to supply some sort of answer to how these things actually work. hey they say you learn something new everyday but they didnt say that it could be about trains, LOL. drop a line and let me know what anyone can tell us.
