Teen Railfan Place

  • Trying to buy a locomotive? I have already tryed once for a F40PH but you have to rember shipping cost and storage cost. After figureing that out I coulden't bid as high on the F40PH because if I won the bid (which I diden't) I would have to pay $$$ to have it moved.
    Save the F40PH!
  • 4 days of school here, and we just had a WICKED thunderstorm! Housefires, power failiures, monsoon rain, flooded road...being on a hill, I enjoyed the view! Counting the number of times lightning strikes the same place...they say it never strikes the same place twice, HA! The apartment building down the road got hit SIX TIMES while I was watching!

  • Howdy y'all. I shocked myself again. I once again "learned" how a little detail can add a lot to a layout. I was running a train on my little layout when it hit me. I'll add a few bushes made of the polly fiber that I had left over from my old layout. Man was I suprised with myself.

In other areas of my life, I am single again and (after the relationship I just got out of) am loving it! The band director had a leadership meeting scheduled for today. As a band officer I was required to come. We did get alot accomplished. We picked the drill instructors for next year, made up the band's motto for the year, listed things to improve on, and picked the stand music for next year.

That is it from my little corner of the world. See you fellas later.

  • Hello everyone,

My last day is Thursday, and I have 2 exams on Monday. Then we're off Tuesday and Wednesday.

Alex, is the "situation" about your K4?

  • Well the store Charles Ro is still giving me all this BS and not responding to my emails or phone calls.  When I dropped the engine off i dropped another off, and it was just mailed to me today.  The engine was to be upgraded to cruise control, but it came back with a dead smoke unit and some lights not working.  This has really taught be a lesson.

  • Good luck if any of you guys try to go after restoring a locomotive or something, but I'm with Chris, I'll just sit by in the peanut galley and watch.

Got a chance to railfan the UP E9s yesterday on a Operation Lifesaver passenger special. Lots of good shots to be had, and they even did a few photo run bys (or more like photo parkings...)It was really pretty cool. On the first run of the morning, the 949 caught fire too! There is a scorch mark that can be seen on the side of the locomotive now if you look for it, right above the fuel tank. Not sure if it was an oil fire or a electrical fire or what, but it'll probably need a little new paint before it looks new again. They used if off line most of the rest of the day.

Hopefully I'll have pictures up sometime in the next few days.

  • I enjoy a diverse representation of music, from Vivaldi to Edvard Grieg to Black Sabbath to King Crimson, with a definite fondness for Pink Floyd...

Yes I'm weird, but hey, everyone knows  a few peices by Grieg! Even if you didn't know that they were by him...

On the railfanning front, there is NADA! It's infuriating...
