thanks....im amazed that the picture on the river came out as good as it did. we beat the train to the location by about 30 seconds. that train was really hauling, at least 35. i wouldnt be shocked if there was a wake beneath it, LOL.

heres the trailing unit, 3905. it isnt the best, but that day NR2 was smaller than ten cars, and going almost 40, so i didnt really have time to get a better shot....

Eric, not too badly actually. We got about 3-4 inches of snow on Sunday/Monday, which is really no big deal at all up here. No ice or anything like to do speak of. Believe it or not this was actually our first snowfall that accumulated and stayed all winter! Even when Madison and Milwaukee (which are about 50 miles south and southeast of me) got dumped on with 5-10 inches back in December, we didn't get more than the occasional flurry! I like snow too, so this winter hasn't been good to me. I'd much rather shoot trains in snow than in the bleak brown/grey scenery we had up until last Sunday!
Pretty cool other shots there gearhead. That lake is definately a neat location!
yeah, and the best part is that theres the NECR right on the other side of the river. a ways south of where i took those shots is a great picnic area with benches and stuff. lots of open water between you and the trains. ususally when the gravel quarry is in season, NR2 heads north with about 40-60 cars in tow.
well its cold and icy up here i here lots of engneers wining about how icy the rails are.
trainboy sarnia is the canadain sister city of port huron all we get down here is canadian national. use to get gt until the buyout. you should check us out with google earth.
cold, warm, i dont care i have a good time eather way it's not cold enough for snow down there. but it is up here so 2 things snow days and sleding. sleding is awsome. one time i went down this hill no snow, just a plain sheet of ice i was bookin and at the bottom was a dranige dich i went down one side then up the other caught some major air (1 to 2 feet) came back down (i somehow was able to stay on the sled) kept going rolled off just before hitting a tree. i then walked up to the sled, and try to pick it up, this was not possible scince on closer inspection a fair sized branch went through the sled!
