I'm on a 56K dial up (although only for a few more weeks), and for me the new forum seems to load a little faster than the old one did. If there are photos on the page though then it goes back to about the usual speed from before.

I encourage you to keep working on it. To me the forums behave as fast as I can click the mouse. Then again Im on a 6 megabit DSL behind a router.
What sort of internet do you have? The forums should work well on dailup unless there are alot of images on a thread to download. Do you sweep your computer for spyware? (Google Adaware for a free program) do you have a firewall to block advertising? Some ISP's like YAHOO or Earthlink offers free online protection that will do some of the work for you.
Is your computer in good shape? Defragmented and reasonably free from other applications that might be slowing it down?
Just a few thoughts. Hang in there!
I on Bellsouth DSL lite. I run Windows XP, have firewall enabled, Webroot spy sweeper. Spy sweeper was slowing the computer down EVERYWHERE, not just on this forum. I added 256M of memory (now have 512M). The forum is reasonably fast, as long as I'm in read-only mode. Text and pictures download rapidly enough. I will time this reply, from the time I hit "POST" until the posting is complete:___minutes. Actual time: 5 seconds. Last night it took about 2 MINUTES to complete the original post in this thread...Edited RED portion took 2 MINUTES 30 SECONDS TO POST!
