I need help...

  • I was wondering where I could find a price list on HO scale trains. I have just acquired over 90 engines from an uncle. I cannot keep all of them so I would like to sell some of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • There is no such thing. Because of the 90 I assume you are talking about HO. Some are worthless, a few might have some market value. All you can do is check ebay. Be aware, ebay prices are all over the place, often higher than true value because of unknowledgeable buyers.
  • I have one selling on ebay right now. It is the Rivarossi UP Challenger #3967...I think that is the number. Thank you for your response. I know that many of these trains *are* worth money. It is just difficult for me to find any info on them. Oh....yes they are all HO scale.
  • Go to the various manufacturers' websites -- poorflick -- they usually have pricelists -- e.g.

That's how I usually check to see what my limit should be, if I am bidding on Ebay.

Do you have any British stuff?

  • ...I'm agreeing with Mike on the price quotes...who would know better than the Manufacturer on the current selling price. I'm reccomending the "ASK.com" site as an excellent "search-engine" with very valuable and pertanant results instead of the "other" guys who only give you "search results" that the Companies PAID them to direct you to. That should get you in the ballpark on the prices you seek. Also don't fail to realize that something OLD is expertentionally MORE valuable than something NEW? Especially with "discontinued items"??! One little suggestion, if I might be so rude to suggest?? I don't know your personal attachment to your Uncle or what his status is (deceased?), but you might want to KEEP one or more of those engines as a small token of appreciation or rememberence of his gift to you?
