Currently using MSTS v1.2, Trainz has too much of a "Model layout " look for me, favorite things to do are messing with the files and editors.

Trainz Ultimate Train Collection. It has the geatest flexability and tons of free downloads of content. It is easy to build your own routes any size your PC can hold. You can be engineer or tower operator / dispatcher with the auto pilot feature the trains follow signals while you run your train against the traffic or controll them via signal indication as dispatcher/operator. There is a feature allowing you to build your own train equipment, buildings etc.I have ALL the sims and UTC is my favorite. trainmang

I'm new in this Forum but for what it's worth, I've been using TRAINMASTER for a couple years now & it's pretty cool. My favorite is bringing a loaded coal train down the Front Range into Denver; if it gets away from you, you will learn first-hand how tough it is to stop a heavy train on a downgrade! The braking controls can be selected (freight, passenger, graduated or direct release), you have a choice of several train types & sizes, & the sound is pure unadulterated EMD 567. You randomly hit yellow (and then red) signals so you get some practice stopping & slowing down. You do need a pretty fast graphics card or the display gets pretty jerky, but that's the biggest drawback to it. They advertise in TRAINS magazine.

MTS with a Raildriver and a good stereo speaker system and powered subwoofer- very loud and (as far as I know) realistic. BTW, you can get a Raildriver cheaper @ Signal Computer Consultants than from the manufacturer.

Like toyomantrains, I use MSTS with a raildriver. I absolutly love my rail driver, it adds so much to the simulator experience.
