Has anyone ever stayed at "Inn on the River" in Tremeapleau Wisconsin? I'm thinking of taking in some train watching in about a month or so and this place was advertised in Trains magazine. Thanks for any comments.

My wife and I were there week before last. Nice place. BNSF right out the door, practically. CP across the river, but pretty hard to see from the inn. An ocassional barge lines up thru the lock which is a couple blocks away.

We also went down to Lacrosse and saw some yard activity. Again, BNSF quite a bit more busy than CP. Grand Crossing is at the limit of BNSF's and CP's yard there. I watched a BNSG unit train - all Hyundai orange containers - wait for a CP intermodal to cross at that crossing. Quite a bit of traffic.
