WC's SD45 fleet sent to the scrapper

  • Now when can we choke on the #193's black smog eh?

  • Well lately all i have is good news for the remaining 23 or so SD45's. CN has not retired anything recenty, an the 7525 should be back on the road by now. CN looks to have halted the retiring lately, so this is your chance.

  • Burger king in the cab of an F40PH? Random..............
    C280 rollin'
  • Not to mention the fact that companies are sometimes interested in locomotive shells for rebuild projects (no traction motor necessary)

ever when to church and heared about the ten commandments??...... Well one of those is THOU SHALT NOT USE THE FAUTHERS NAME IN VAIN.........don't mean to get religous on ya

that just rubbed my the wrong way.
  • wow... words fail me. ham, i'm an atheist. therefore my god is nowhere. secondly, i downvoted your other ytmnds not because i hate the F40PH, but because they honestly, truthfully, SUCK!

moving on, i would hope all this positive speculation holds true. i love SD45s. especially WC ones. even though i really dont like the older color schemes they had, i would love to see any of them become preserved. just preferably an inverted tree nose one and specifically... six six two zero....

    Your friendly neighborhood CNW fan.

  • If you can find the buyer of your beloved 6620 I am sure they will be happy to sell whatever parts they do not need for a fee. They will crate it and ship it too. These days a loco only goes to the torch when nothing else can be sold. All the railroads have learned to remove any parts they may need or can sell before they are sold in none running condition. Even then as many parts are recycled as possible by the buyers. Just like used auto parts there is a huge used loco parts business. There are also many skilled and talented modelers who will gladly reproduce any engine you want custom painted and lettered that will look better than anything out of a box. For a fee of course but them what's money between friends. An original part next to a beautiful model should provide many years of fond memories. [2c] P.S. the pain you are feeling is no different than when all those beloved F-units were being replaced 2 for 1 with (boring?) SD's. As always ENJOY
  • What is so special about 6620? I mean it is an engine, get over it. You seem obsessed with 6620, why?

Oh yeah, sad to see them go. You really need to run railroads like australia, we still have 48's around form the late 50's

  • I admit, im getting a little sick of seeing every post every made with Max have this 6620, or the latter, "six six two zero". But, Alexander, you obvously dont have your favorite engine "under attack" or being sold off at the moment. To others, like me, its hard to see your favorite thing disapear from the tracks.

  • What i meant was Why is 6620 so special to him? Was it like the first good photo of a train he got, or the first train he saw, or something like that?

    Alexander
  • He got his senior pictures on the porch of it,
