Scenery Question from Newbie

I made a tunnel out of chicken wire & a Box and newspaper. Covered it with Woodland Scenic plaster. Now I want to paint it, but the plaster has a ton of little holes in it and the paint is nto covering it up. Any suggestions.

Well, we're talking about the plaster cloth stuff, right? I'd say apply more plaster cloth, and smooth it with your fingers, keeping them wet.
