Which railroad does the most traffic when it comes to intermodal transportation. Who is TTX?

TTX is a national freight car pool. All the (participating) railroads share ownership of this pool of cars. It's the intermodial version of Railbox, the national boxcar pool.

The king of Intermodal was the Santa Fe, and that pretty much is still true. The BNSF still makes the most of intermodal. mostly off the old Santa Fe transcon. However, all of the big four are really big into it. TTX is owned by all four of the major class ones in America. I think that NS owns a sligthly bigger share than the rest because of Conrail.

I would say it would be the BNSF that does the most in intermodel traffic. CN also has a bunch of these trains and so does UP.

no one railroad carries no more than the other when it comes to intermodal traffic. what you have to look at is.
1. the location of the intermodal and how big the site is.
2. wich railroad owens the intermodal site
3. volume of traffic that flows through one site at a given time
