    My favorite railroads are,
    1.SOUTHERN PACIFIC,
    2.SANTA FE.
    Ride Amtrak. Cats Rule, Dogs Drool.

    Foamer I like those two plus BN, WP, and Rio Grande.

    I also like Cotton Belt, its not quite out west, but close.

    Foamer SP and SF are among my all-time favorites, but UP will always be my rr of choice.

    My all time most loved is the MKTY (KATY). I like a lot of them but she is the top. ATSF is cool to and the T&P, any one that has Texas in the name.[2c]

    We have forums at Western Rail devoted specifically to those railraods. Also if you know about or like a western short line or narrow guage line, then you can request it on the appropriate request forums. However, we only take requests from members.

    There is one railroad you have excluded. The Milwaukee Road. I know, I know! You're going to say "that railroad no longer exsists" but you have to look at it this way. It was a huge western railroad and it made history.

    that was an expansion.. that is like saying that bn is a western road.

    Ok I'm sorry. It's just, almost 5000 miles of the railroad was out west and thats where most of the business came from.
    So I do consider that a part of western railroad.

    Is the Milwaukee Road a western road? The "extension" was built in the 1910's and ran for over fifty years. I would say that establishes the Milwaukee Road to as much claim as a western railroad as any corporation.
